If YOU WANT TO EXCEL IN LIFE, SAY GOODBYE TO THESE BEHAVIORS

1) PRIORITIZING LEISURE.

It’s perfectly fine to laze around and enjoy life. After all, isn’t that what we’re put here on earth for?But if you spend more time lazing around than actually working on your goals, then don’t expect to excel in whatever it is that you do.This is a basic fact of life: in order to be good at anything— in order to achieve your dreams—you need to work hard.

2) HAVING SO MANY EXCUSES

If someone asks you why you’re still not working on your business proposal or manuscript, you say things like “Oh, I am always swamped with work.” or “I’m still waiting for my loan to get approved.”Don’t get me wrong, those can be valid reasons. But they become excuses when, deep inside, you know you can actually work on your goals without them.

Here’s the hard truth: If you always find excuses not to do what you’re supposed to do, you’ll never achieve them. Life always gets in the way if you let it.

3) PUTTING THINGS OFF

Some of us may not be lazy per se, but we just have a habit of putting things off. This is obviously a hindrance to success because not only will you miss deadlines, you’ll also be cramming and therefore not producing your best work.If you want to excel in life, do what needs to be done even if it’s boring or hard or exhausting…even if it can be very tempting to delay them another day.Stop procrastinating or else you’ll never create the life you always wanted for yourself.

4) WORRYING TOO MUCH

Do you worry about everything—from not achieving your goals to not surviving the apocalypse?

Anxiety is a very common mental illness so you shouldn’t feel any shame for it. In fact, a large number of highly successful people suffer from anxiety. But you should still address this problem because mental health can hold you back. It doesn’t have any benefit whatsoever. In fact, contrary to popular belief, Van Gogh was not a genius because he has mental illness, he’s a genius despite it. Many believe he could have done more if he was not suffering. So if you’re not mentally well, make sure you find a way to get better. After all, can we really say one “excels in life” if they’re suffering from depression and anxiety?

5) PEOPLE-PLEASING

People-pleasing is such a waste of time. And it can lead us in the wrong direction, too.A lot of successful people become successful because they’ve stopped caring too much about others. Instead, they put themselves at the top priority. So if you find it hard to say NO, learn to do it now. Imagine how much time and energy you’ll save.If you always want a thumbs up before you do anything, challenge yourself to just jump and forget about what others could think. As long as you’re not hurting anyone or putting anyone in danger, YOU should matter more than anyone else around you.

6) NOT HAVING CLEAR GOALS

If you don’t know what you want, you’ll never achieve it. This is probably why you allow others to make decisions for you, too.So define what success (and a happy life) means for you and be as specific as possible.Don’t just say “Well, I just want to be happy”. You have to paint a very clear picture.Imagine yourself 5-10-20 years from now. What do you see?
